Who We Are

See What You Can Experience at Tree of Life

Experience is everything, and here at Tree of Life Body Works, your experience is completely original to your needs and wants. Our philosophy is to give you the tools you need to live a healthier life.

In 2007, a journey began

One that continues to evolve

After losing my mother to cancer, my father in law to obesity and taking a look in the mirror, Mike and I knew it was time for a change.

Along came James Chestnut, BC, DC, CCWP

Dr. James helped Mike and I see that health was how you eat, how you think and how you move.  In 2009 I took that knowledge and started a program called Biggest Loser Innate Style.  It was amazing, I felt so alive doing this program for myself and others.  Mike took what he learned and became a farmer, raising the healthy meat we would need.  Together we envisioned a center that would allow us to incorporate the think well, move well, eat well concept.  It took six years to see that come to fruition.

Tree of Life Body Works is the accumulation of dreams come true. The center will be used to provide massage services. We plan to have a sugar detox classes and other nutrition classes.  We hope to offer a wide range of fitness classes, including body rolling.  All classes and appointments for massages will be available through this website.

We look forward to working with you.

My Background:

Hi! I am Sue. Since I moved to Kalkaska, I was looking for a way to use my extra time, passion and expertise to help Kalkaska area residents better manage their money, which would enable them to plan for a great retirement. I was happy to find an opportunity to do this through Tree of Life Body Works, with enthusiastic support and encouragement from Dr. Kareen Oosterhart. What I do:

My Background:

After struggling with my weight since being a young adult, I was diagnosed as a type 2 diabetic in 2008 due to my unhealthy lifestyle. At this time, I was also a pack a day smoker. In 2010, I made the choice to start improving my life. First by giving up the smoking habit, increasing my physical activity and choosing to eat less processed foods. Starting in late 2014, the real transformation began and I started attending fitness classes on a regular basis, swimming laps and lifting weights at the Kaliseum gym. I started out attending the Body Boot Camp Fitness class as a student and was asked if I would be interested in instructing the class.

What I’m Passionate about:

I am enjoying every moment and look forward to helping the participants become healthier and lead a more active lifestyle. In my spare time, I enjoy being outside kayaking and golfing or just relaxing outdoors reading a good book.

What I do:

My Background:

Nickoale has lived in the Cadillac area since 2001, she is married and has 5 children and 5 grandchildren as well as one on the way. She became interested in massage therapy in 2010 when her father was diagnosed with lung cancer. His doctors said massage would help with the pain from the cancer treatments. She finished massage school in 2012 with her certificate and went back to get her associate degree in massage therapy. She has been practicing actively since December of 2012. She is passionate about helping the body heal naturally.
